The Danger Contradiction:

The Danger Contradiction is a collaborative project between singer/songwriter Alice Danger, producer Dialectic, and myself. All of the instrumentals are crafted by Dialectic, and Miss Danger and I collaborate on writing the lyrics. The concepts for the songs are strongly inspired by the beats, and so even though we're collaborating from different coasts, the theme of the lyrics will never clash with the vibe of the beat. When the project is done, all the tracks will be compiled onto an EP to make the tracks easier to find and download. For now however, just search for The Danger Contradiction tag. 


The Monthly Quarterly:

The Author's Monthly Quarterly is an on-going mixtape series that's a bit different from how most hip-hop mixtapes are made.

Soon after releasing my EP, I wanted to get more material out. I had a lot of beats that weren't being used, and so to stay sharp as a writer and an emcee I started writing to them. Each beat painted a different atmosphere and inspired different concepts and story ideas, and soon I had three or four that I was ready to write the lyrics to. Instead of waiting to have a few ready to record and release however, I decided I would release them as I finished them. I originally planned to release a track once a week to keep it consistent, though I knew that with my schedule I wouldn't be able to, not quite. Still, I knew I could swing at least four every month, and so the Monthly Quarterly was born.

Every 12 tracks mark the end of a volume, and when this happens the tracks are compiled and released as a hardcopy version with its own art, available for purchase. 

Due to the nature of my writing process, I'm usually coming up with a song concept a few days before it's written. I write a small newsletter for each one, describing the inspiration or the story behind it as well. A lot of them are inspired by the beat, but if I hear a good idea for a story, I'll make or find a beat that it can be told over. I'm also happy to take any ideas or concepts for stories as well. 

So if there's a story idea or concept that you want to hear me tell over a beat, e-mail me your idea. I'll write it.

Collaboration is one of the many keys to success. I've been a producer for longer than I've been an emcee, and a musician for longer than that. If you need any beats, are in need of production, or simply want to collaborate on a track, hit me up. If I like what you do we'll get down.
